1-1 Discussion: Using Research (50 Points)My Name is Frazier my major is business

Research is an important part of academics, but it is also used in your daily life. Think about a time when you researched a topic. Was the purpose to teach or build someone’s knowledge? Maybe to disprove or support the truth, or to explore new areas of a topic?

Discussing challenges that face our world often means investigating opinions and ideas different from your own. Remember to remain thoughtful and respectful toward your peers and instructor in your initial and response discussion posts.

Create one initial post and respond to at least two of your classmates.

For your initial post, address the following:

  1. Introduce yourself to the class. Include your major and anything you would like to share about yourself. Then address the prompt below.
  2. How have you used research in the past? Provide an example of research you have used. This can be an academic or non-academic example. When answering, consider the following:

For your response posts, address the following:

  1. What steps can you use in your own research process that your peers used for research?
  2. Propose a different audience for the research situation your peer described. Then, address the following:

Remember, your contributions to the discussion play an important part in building the classroom learning community. This assignment is graded on the quality of your initial post and at least two response posts to your classmates.
