You will describe technology and other appropriate assessment tools and approaches to observe, document, and collect data to inform practice and decision making for early childhood learners for an elementary school in Dallas, Texas.

Presentation:

Create a 15-20 slide presentation for professional development for early childhood educators that includes the following sections. Importance of assessment in the five domains:

1. Cognitive (Reading and Math concepts)

2. Social/Emotional

3. Language/Communication

4. Motor

5. Self-Help/Adaptive Technology and other appropriate assessment tools and approaches, relevant to each of the five domains, that can be used to observe, document, and collect data to: 1. Monitor progress. 2. Inform practice. 3. Make decisions. 4. Promote positive outcomes for each child, including the use of assistive technology for children with special needs. Partnerships with families and professional colleagues that include:

1. Promoting assessment practices and outcomes that build effective learning environments. 2. Benefits of supporting and engaging families and communities through respectful, reciprocal relationships. In addition to the 15-20 slides, create reference slides, and slide notes with detailed explanations and descriptions on each slide. Detailed explanations should be no shorter than 4-5 sentences long. No title slide is needed. Use 3-5 scholarly resources that are U.S.-based. At least 1-2 of the scholarly resources should be from the classroom e-textbook. Original writing is expected. This will be submitted to turnitin.com to cross check for originality.
